In this meta-analysis they looked at a Chinese Medicine formula to see the clinical efficacy in treating type 2 diabetes. There are already many studies documenting that acupuncture lowers blood sugar during a treatment. That is why you can get light-headed after a treatment if you haven't eaten in a while. Not surprisingly this analysis showed a good effect on all sorts of blood markers of type 2 diabetes. You can read the study here
