Comparing use of Chinese Medicinal Herbs to standard antiseptic for ventilator-associated pneumonia.

In this meta analysis of research they were comparing standard care oral rinse, Chlorhexidine (CHX), to help prevent ventilator related pneumonia to Chinese Herbal medicinals , which they don’t name in the abstract, and Miswak, used commonly oral hygiene in the muslim middle east, among other herbs. They found that both the TCM herbs and Miswak did a better job as an oral rinse of preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia than the CHX. Link to Research
