Difficulties with standard advice to women with PCOS to loose weight.

The standard advice to women with PCOS is to loose weight. This advice is effective for women who are close to or above “obese” on a BMI chart. (don’t get me on to the problems with BMI charts!) However , what about women who are not overweight but have PCOS? The inflammatory mechanism that causes the ovaries to clog up with immature follicles is not because of higher blood sugar levels in these women. To get help with slim/thin type PCOS usually these women have to turn to TCM practitioners and ND’s to get their periods regulated again. Luckily I know a good TCM practitioner who also happens to have experience and success at treating reproductive system problems and thin/slim type PCOS specifically!
