This is a cool research review for acupuncture geeks. It looks at the cellular mechanism of 1 single acupuncture point, Stomach 36. It on the outside of the leg, just below the knee. It one of the most common acupuncture points used. From the research review you can see why! It can affect everything from respiratory mucus secretion to intestinal flora to immune cell functioning, not to mention inflammatory state, oxidative stress, neurotransmitter transmission and hormone secretion.
